SAN FRANCISCO — An apartment fire in San Francisco’s Visitacion Valley neighborhood Saturday night sent eight people to the hospital, including one firefighter and three children, a fire lieutenant said.
The blaze was reported at 11:13 p.m. at 2420 Bayshore Blvd. It was under control about 11:45 p.m., the Fire Department reported.
A firefighter was hospitalized after sustaining a minor laceration while fighting the blaze, according to the lieutenant.
The fire also hospitalized seven others, including three children, the lieutenant said. A police officer was treated for smoke inhalation and released at the scene, he said.
The American Red Cross responded to the fire and is providing assistance to the adults and children who were displaced, according to the lieutenant.
